People certainly live in their own little bubbles, don't they? Maybe it's not just Jon Hamm's character in 30 Rock who has his own false sense of reality and his own inflated sense of self. We all are shaped by the communities we were raised in and the environments we choose to expose ourselves to, which unfortunately means that a lot of us have no sense of how others live. The same goes with a boss talking to an employee about the problems with his beach house. In short, people have trouble getting out of their own bubbles and checking themselves before speaking.
