If you have been a cat owner for a while, then you know that there are some cat system settings that take a while to kick in. Most things, cats learn at quite an early age, but other things… Well, there is one system setting that kicks in unexpectedly. It might kick in when your cat is still a kitten, or it might take years, you never know until it happens. And that is the food setting.
Every single cat has some unexpected non-meat food that they are obsessed with. Some cats are obsessed with bread. Other cats will stop at nothing to get sweets. Some cats are obsessed with cucumbers and some like sweet potatoes. We promise, if it hasn't happened to your cat yet… it will. It's just a matter of time. One day, you'll be sitting in your kitchen, munching away on some Doritos, and before you know it, your cat will be attacking you, trying to grab a bite.

"Bindi, my ~16 year-old tuxedo, has a thing for salty starches… potato chips, tortilla chips, popcorn, etc. And salted matzo with butter recently became her new obsession! She literally comes running for it."
"Waffles. We'd only had Kaleb for a few weeks. He was still a kitten. My son made some cinnamon toast waffles with no syrup. He set the plate on the table near the couch and went to get a drink. Kaleb ran up the couch, jumped on the table, grabbed the waffle (the whole waffle) and took off running."
