‘She’s hilariously acting like it’s reasonable’: Brooklyn landlord tries to kick out 2-year tenant with less than a month's notice, New Yorker seeking to use this to their advantage

Renting regulations are different in every major city, but New York City's rent is notoriously flawed. It might not currently be the most expensive U.S. city to live in, but it's definitely the worst bang for your buck. If you can afford $2,400 a month and not lose your mind in a one bedroom with a closet sized bathroom, no closets, and a faulty heating system, then more power to ya! For other New Yorkers, this has become a huge issue and there are more and more laws being created around it so landlords can't get away with everything. That being said, they still try their darnedest to get away with as much as possible. For example, kicking tenants out who are rent controlled so that they can get new tenants and raise the rent to impossible numbers. This Reddit post is all too familiar for New Yorkers. After 2 years of faulty radiators, the tenant finally decided to threaten to call 3-1-1 if they don't fix them because they can't go another winter with no heat. Instead of fixing the issue, the landlord told them to move in less than a month. So now, the tenant is seeking to use this obvious breach of contract to their advantage. See for yourself below!
