You would think most of us would know at this point that being the primary "breadwinner" in a family does not mean you are entitled to make a fuss when dinner is not on the table upon your return home from work. It's 2023, people! We should have more realistic expectations of all parties in a family dynamic, and therefore, we should have equal respect for the financial and emotional contributions that all parties make.
Unfortunately, these kinds of expectations do not gradually fizzle from one generation to the next. Sure, they may evolve, but the essence of those expectations may still be present no matter what. The expectations may even look different now as they may transcend gender roles and all sorts of families. However, as with most phenomena in this world, money will impact how people behave. The person who makes more money regardless of background, industry, etc. will come to expect more from the other partner, even if these boundaries and expectations have not been expressly discussed or laid out.
Here, we have a father with very traditionally-minded gender roles who threw a tantrum when dinner wasn't ready after he got home from work. He believed that his wife had no excuse and does nothing all day despite the fact that she looks after their young children. So, in return, she decided to conduct a little experiment to give her husband a greater sense of what she does all day. We call this malicious compliance for the betterment of humanity.
