While the cuisine of the USA has its positive aspects, it certainly isn't to everyone's taste. In comparison to other countries, it has a laser focus on ultra processed mega portions can come across as overwhelming.
The most resounding stereotype about American food is that it's unapologetically calorific. If Americans eat like they've got free healthcare, then surely there's nothing they wouldn't try and stick some extra butter in.
To the surprise of Twitter users elsewhere in the world, this is not always the case. When these non-Americans discovered that US TikTokers were treating buttered sandwich bread like it was a revelation, they didn't really know what to say. Nonetheless, they said it anyway (as did some Americans, who wondered why their fellow citizens had never done this before). You won't be shocked to learn that they were not that impressed. Although you might expect that we have all accepted by now that different cultures have different approaches to food, apparently this is still not the case.
