The long game of revenge requires a lot of patience, so unless you are truly up for it, don't bother undertaking such a commitment.
I'd expect you would have some pretty high expectations when moving into a house. Everything is always pink, rosy, shiny and new, before it turns grey, bitter, old and then black. You want the place to be nice, the street to be quiet, the neighbors to be invisible. Is that so much to ask, when paying the amount you need in order to pay for an actual house nowadays? I think not.
In any case, you would be disappointed if a neighbor went out his way to make your life miserable. When one neighbor moved in, OP knew they were up to no good. It didn't take long to figure out, as soon enough, this entitled neighbor was doing everything they shouldn't. This neighbor even involved their kids in all their frustrating antics, which to me, screams unfair.
Both for the poor kids, and also for the other neighbors. OP didn't particularly care for the HOA rules, but after one too many run-ins, they knew they had to take things into their own hands — starting with a bunch of HOA reports. Now, the result of OP's plan didn't yield immediate results… in fact, it took 4 whole months. But in the end, everyone got what they deserved.
