Picking a fight with your neighbors can be tricky business. You run the risk of starting an all-out war with people you can never avoid and there's rarely ever any reward– except of course, when you can use the power of nature (and plausible deniability) to get the sweetest revenge on a Karen next door.
This guy got a little creative in his payback after his 92-year-old Karenish neighbor started complaining about his yard. At no consequence to her, u/RasonH's life was starting to crumble as he was the primary caregiver to his partner with a chronic illness. With 5 cats and 1 adult to care for, OP's garden was the last thing on his mind. However, according to the old woman next door, it was insufferably ugly and needed to be reported to the HOA.
Enduring several citations and baseless 'warnings' from the HOA, the Karen next door took things to another level. Even though OP was using his spare time to do his best to managing the plants in their front yard, she couldn't stand to look at the weeds. She marched over, fired a rain of complaints and had the audacity to drop some judgey remarks in the process.
That was the final straw and the catalyst to an all out battle using flora and fauna as ammo.
