'Can you please resend?': Theater patron repeatedly demands tickets from an automated reply email, employee sends her back plenty of replies

E-tickets are supposed to be convenient, but for this confused customer, it was the complete opposite. 

Buying tickets for an event used to be a lot simpler than it is these days. I'm told that decades ago, if you wanted to get a ticket to a concert, you had to physically walk your body over to a box office and buy a ticket from another human being. Sometimes people would camp outdoors while waiting for tickets, and there were certainly people who bought tickets just to resell them. But for the most part, if you wanted a ticket, you had to get it yourself — the internet just wasn't that developed yet. 

Things were much more localized before the internet, it's almost quaint. Or rather it would be quaint if we weren't all stuck with the nightmare that ticket-buying has become. 

For example, there was no such thing as having to compete with bots, or having to download an app in order to purchase your ticket. At a recent concert, I literally had to download their app in order to go. They wouldn't accept screenshots or emails at the door, their app was the only option. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have an iPhone, or had too little space to download it. It just doesn't seem right.
