People you work with will have certain expectations of you, and when given the opportunity, can cause a few inconveniences if and when you don't meet said expectations… in other words, people like to be petty. In this case, OP got as petty as petty can get, when she got a shot at making a former coworker's life a little harder than it needed to be. Back in the day, OP was working as a supervisor at a company, and her job included a lot of travel. There was a conference she needed to get to, so she approached the receptionist, whose job it was to make travel arrangements.
OP knew that making flight arrangements ahead of time meant that flights would be cheaper, and she was anxious about making the company spend more than they already had to. After a few days went by, and she hadn't received a confirmation from the receptionist, she approached her again. The receptionist kept putting her off, and the airfare ended up costing more than it should have.
According to OP's post, nobody actually cared that the airfare cost more (besides OP, that is), but she still decided to be petty later on anyway. Scroll down to read what that pettiness entailed.
