It's not often you'll find the internet rooting for landlords. A group of people with a reputation for being dishonest and overly greedy, raising rents beyond reason, or neglecting necessary repairs in order to maximize profits—all the while enjoying an absurd amount of control over other people's lives—doesn't necessarily inspire a lot of compassion. And, yet—here we find ourselves. Although it helps that, in this case, the "landlord" is a corporate entity, and their representative in this story is a sympathetic customer service manager.

While some might prefer not to take sides when it comes to competing evils, it can be satisfying to watch one destroy the other… So, when this Karen came up against the customer service manager of the corporate leasing agency from which she and her husband leased the space for their business, she was about to learn a thing or two about being polite to customer service staff.
