Let's be real. Co-dependency does not have the best rep on the street. Co-dependent relationships usually come with a negative connotation and are characterized as unhealthy and t0xic, and we can definitely see why. 

Anyone who has ever been in a co-dependent relationship knows that it's one heck of a rollercoaster ride. Well, how could it not be when you're constantly being influenced by someone else's emotions? Co-dependency is a slippery slope because partners become overly dependent on each other for support, decision-making, and other aspects of life, leading to a lack of independence, lack of boundaries, and later results in fear of abandonment.
