Movie fans can be absolutely savage in their reviews. Part of the joy of sites like Letterboxd is that we no longer have to rely on pretentious write-ups in pretentious publications in order to get a sense of whether or not a movie is worth checking out. In theory, that sense of elitism is gone with the democratization of accessible Letterboxd reviews from plebeians like us.
