If you've ever worked at a place that institutes the silliest, least sensical rules you've ever heard of, this story is for you.
The amount of food waste that many restaurants have is staggering. In recent years, TikTokers have helped shine a light on the issue, such as one person who went viral exposing a donut chain that throws away hundreds of donuts per day. Others have gone dumpster diving outside a different mega coffee chain to find out they throw away dozens and dozens of sandwiches, cookies, and cake pops at the end of the day. It's one of those open secrets that employees know about, but no one can do anything to stop the massive amounts of food waste.
This person, u/Purpleninja1132, had a similar type of experience, although at least their food didn't wind up in the trash. They ended up completing some great malicious compliance against their boss. Although as some people speculated in the comments section, the boss himself might have been maliciously complying. Perhaps the boss's boss was on his tail about making sure employees were cooking hot, fresh chicken wings until the very moment of closing.
