'Yesterday was my last day': Employer makes worker "jump through hoops" to take PTO, quits instead

Busy work is work, but it's not getting anyone anywhere.

This worker shared their experience with a popular online community for workplace matters, explaining how they had given notice to their job and were trying to get their employer to apply their remaining PTO to their remaining shifts. Their employer kept dodging the issue, which drove the worker, instead, to quit on the spot, leaving the employer with even less shift coverage than they were already worried about.
