'Send us a check': Landlord refuses to take $0.02 payment in cash, tenant maliciously complies

Insisting on adherence to process when it does nothing but create an inconvenient obstacle is a tactic that the power-hungry love to wield like a fork at Sunday dinner—and I'm not saying they only use it once a week, but rather that they do so with ravenous vigor. It's silly, really, that someone should make such a big deal out of nothing—but trust anyone who is desperate to justify their existence in this world to do so. 

When this couple moved from their apartment complex, they received a follow-up bill in the mail from the management company. This seemed ridiculous to them off the bat since the management company would have spent multitudes more than the $0.02 on the balance of the bill in order to mail it in the first place. They attempted to stop in at the offices of the management company to drop off two pennies to pay the balance, but once they arrived, the manager refused to receive it, owing to the policy that they didn't take cash. Maybe they should also have a policy that they don't seek payments that cost more to process than they're receiving. 

Bewildered and confounded by the situation, jokes were made by the couple that totally missed the mark—probably because the manager had been the one that made the decision to send the petty bill.
