The audacity of this coworker to expect reservations to just be made for him. This thread was posted to Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit by u/chibbychon, who was closely monitoring discount prices for an upcoming work conference. Their coworker asked the employee to book their hotel room for them, but the employee explained that they couldn't because they didn't have all his information. Completely understandable!
Well, by the time the coworker realized he had to book his own hotel room himself like an adult, he missed out on the discount and had to pay $4,000 on a third-party site. He ended up getting upset at the employee in the workplace and blamed them for his own incompetence. Folks in the comments section suggested that the employee should get in touch with their supervisor or HR and explain what happened. This employee is not their assistant and should not be treated as such.
