We humans, naively, think that they can train our cats. So we try. Oh, we try. And no matter how many times we try, we fail. Because in their core, at the very base of their programming, cats are agents of chaos. They will eat whatever they want, even if it means stealing the food right off your plate, they will go where they want, they will break what they want, and they will sit wherever they feel like.

Obviously, Fluffy knows when he is not allowed to go somewhere. He knows when his humans are forbidding him from doing something. And the only correct response to this knowledge is to do exactly what he's not allowed to do no matter how difficult that may be. It's a matter of asserting dominance, it's that simple.
The funniest thing about this picture by far is how shocked the cat obviously is about being discovered. As if we're the crazy ones for thinking it's silly to sit inside of a toilet bowl. And we clearly are. The kitty obviously knows what he's doing. We're the weird ones.
