'Bye Felicia': Paramedic quits after discovering they are the lowest paid despite having the most experience

Rather than experience, the arbitrary number of your wage or salary is more likely to be how the hiring department (or company in general) is feeling on any given day. This can be dependent on cash flow, forecasting, or just how many cups of coffee the decision maker has had and how much sleep they got the night before.

At any rate, if you've been at an organization for an extended period of success, it's likely your contributions, and the revenue your work has generated have helped that new hire next to you to enter at a higher wage than you.

This paramedic was assured that they were in the middle of their company's pay scale but quit when they discovered that they were actually the lowest paid of the paramedics on their team, despite having the most experience.

They posted screenshots of the scathing email they sent to their employer to Reddit's r/antiwork subreddit. The email notifies the employer of their resignation due to the employer's duplicity and signs off with the iconic “Bye Felicia."
