Dad Forbids Teen Daughter From Going On Date After She Gets Caught In A Lie

Parenting is quite the challenge. Naturally, parents want to be involved in the kids' lives, but they want to give them a certain sense of independence as well so that they are able to function well as they grow older. Int today's 'Am I the A$$hole?' post, OP told us about he's a single dad, so he's making a lot of the parenting decisions on his own. Recently, his teen daughter told him that somebody asked her on a pizza date. OP told her she could definitely go on the date, but he would have to meet the boy first so that he could confirm that she'll be safe and sound. She told him that they would  be able to meet, but when the night of the date arrived, she tried escaping the house because she was too embarrassed for them to meet.
