Things can get a little confusing in the virtual world these days. If you arrange something virtually, it's possible to be completely different in real life. That's just the gamble you roll when you do anything virtually. For instance, when you book a dog walker through an app, all kinds of things can go awry. And that's exactly what happened to a dog walker on the popular dog walking app Rover.
She was sent a last minute dog walking appointment, so she had never met this person, never been to their apartment, and had never met the dog. Everything seemed to be going swimmingly, as usual, until she got a text from the dog owner wondering if she ever picked up the dog for their walk. Confused, she said she was currently on the walk and sent them a photo of the dog, and it turned out that she was not walking the scheduled client's dog. She had accidentally kidnap some stranger's dog.
Things got confusing because the dogs were about the same size, same color, and bother “mixes” or “mutts.” So the dog at first glance seemed like the right dog. She mentions some things in hindsight she should have noticed, like the name on the dog's collar not matching, and the leash being in a different place than the client had described, but all little things.
She calmly walked the dog back to the apartment building, returned him, and went to that strangers Ring camera and explained what had just happened. She left her information so they could get in contact if they wanted to talk any further. She then went to the correct apartment and walked the originally scheduled dog. So everything worked out, but it wasn't until a few days after that she actually ended up getting even better news.
After the whole ordeal, she talked back and forth with the original client and the stranger's who she also walked the dog of and they were both very nice and understood the mishap. In the end, the stranger's dog had such a great walk with her new human friend, that the owners hired her full-time as their dog walker. So even though the situation started off as an accidental dog kidnapping, it ended up with more business for the woman. Like it was meant to be! The dog's name is Clover and she intends to post more of her new canine buddy with the approval of his owners.
