Whether you're an introvert or an extrovert mostly comes down to the ways in which you recharge that social battery. Extroverts (who really seem to get a bad rap) tend to feel energized and replenished by simply being around other people, whereas introverts are more likely to feel drained and exhausted in social situations. While introverts don't necessarily hate large gatherings or talking to people, they do need a little extra alone time to feel like themselves. That's why while some of my friends seem to be socializing 6 out of the 7 days of the week, my introverted pals are more likely to opt to see people on Friday or Saturday and keep to themselves during the other days. I may not relate to either (I'm somewhere in the middle), but I can respect that we all have different needs.
