People being mean to cats will forever shock us. We've seen it time and time again, especially sitting here and writing about cats for a living, and still… it manages to shock us. From the small things to the big things. From people abandoning cats on the street because they no longer want them, leaving them to fend for themselves, to people throwing kittens out of moving car windows, completely uncaring of their fate, to even worse things. We just… don't see the point - ever - of being cruel to a helpless animal. And yet, people do it.
The only thing that keeps us hopeful is that we believe there are just as many truly kind people are there are truly evil ones. And so, there's a counterbalance. And in the hopes of creating more good people, we share as many of these stories as we can. We spotlight those who deserve it. The people who rescue cats - especially from those terrible situations that the cats sometimes end up in - those are the people that we should focus on. Those are the things that matter.
The person who painted this cat blue is someone that we should not even think about. We should focus on the fact that this helpless kitten was found by a kind man - a man who took her in, took care of her, and gave her a second chance at life. Without him, we don't know how much longer this kitten would have made it in the condition that she was in. But she was found in time, and now, she will have htethe best forever home possible, far, far away from anyone who could ever want to cause her harm again.
We hope that this story insires others to show kindness to animals in need of help, whether it's a kitten like this one or simply one that they found on the street, alone and hungry. It is crucial to maintain that counterbalance exactly the way that it needs to be - to be as kind as pawssible to those in need.
